In prior experiences with Dr. Mathias, I’ve been most appreciative of her management of a serious threat to my vision. Before coming to NM Ophthalmology, I had the impression from other specialists that the normal treatments for my condition offered little hope that deterioration of my vision could be effectively slowed. Dr. Mathias adjusted my therapy to the end that my condition has stabilized. When it became apparent that my cataracts had become a major problem, I asked my NM Ophthalmologists for advice and was relieved to hear them say that when their time came, they hoped Dr. Mathias would be their person to perform the procedure. Now after completing the second eye a few hours before the winter solstice, my world is becoming much brighter - full of light, detail, and color - as the annual return of light is redoubled. Parenthetically, I’m not sure where these reviews are directed, but each time I respond to these surveys I’m asked if I’d be willing to give video feedback. I always think I’m too busy, but this time I would be happy to do so if it could be done in the second week of January.

Dr. Duyka is so nice and pleasant to talk too. He was always calm and took time to see me and the first time I came in I had to bring my youngest son with me and he didn’t make him seem like an inconvenience at all. Which I was worried about. I met with him I think twice before the actual surgery he did for me, and he was always nice every time and explained everything to me with a lot of detail and made sure I understood and always asked if I had any questions. At first I read a lot of bad reviews on Google sites about Dr. Duyka so I was worried but I’m not sure why so many people said negative things. I never had any issues like that with him. He’s definitely one of my favorite doctors I’ve ever seen. He also messaged me after my surgery a few days later and let me know it was a cyst and it was removed. I would definitely recommend him if anyone was looking for an ENT at northwestern
