Chemo stinks, as does having a rare, aggressive cancer. I am alive 5 years after diagnosis because of Dr. Pant. I say this not because of the treatment plans for my care, which I think are pretty much determined by the genetics of the tumor and the gold standard for the right drugs to try, and I assume that many smart, well-trained, and up-to-date gynecologic oncologists would be able to recommend the best treatment plans. Dr. Pant has kept me alive by sharing complete and unbiased information with me, listening patiently to my hopes and fears, talking me through the pros and cons of various treatment options, honoring my choices for what is most important to me, and doing all of this with genuine warmth, kindness, and compassion. He is a brilliant clinician and a terrific surgeon -- qualities for which I am enormously grateful -- but it is his personal qualities that led me to trust him and develop complete confidence in his guidance and recommendations.
