I have a healthy thyroid now. The doctors in my area only gave me the option of destroying it. They also didn't check me for the eye component, which can be made worse by radiating the thyroid. I was carefully checked over and my desire to just remain on medication was not seen as disasterous. In fact, it was supported and I was monitered during that time.
