Being diagnosed with cancer (and this is my second time around) is beyond frightening. Dr. Alter took so much time to explain things to me and talked in terms I could understand. This was a second opinion for me but he took steps to analyze and identify concerns in my pathology report that were never explained to me. He was knowledgable and reassuring but was very honest as well which is so important. Dr. Alter was actually my second opinion on my treatment plan. It differed from the one I was given and I was going to start chemo next week. Based on his assessments I am going with his treatment plan. He never criticized any of the doctors I have been working with and was extremely diplomatic. I feel very grateful that my son insisted on a second opinion.
