She has great empathy for me, and I assume for her other patients. She is also very knowledgeable and is able to impart that knowledge so that I can understand her. Overall, a great doctor to be my PCP.

It's no secret to anyone who knows her, but Dr. Athar is an amazing physician! I have no reservations about stating that she's the best, most caring, and most informative physician I've ever had. I feel like I'm in a safe space whenever I have an appointment with her. My concerns feel valid, and any questions I have are answered without judgement. I plan on staying with JHCP Columbia North so long as Dr. Athar continues to practice there, and I've recommended her to my family on multiple occasions. She's truly a blessing and we need more physicians like her!

Dr. Athar listened to us with interest and compassion, provided clear recommendations and helped my wife and I discuss cognitive losses and encouraged that we consider moving to a continuing care retirement continuing care community as soon as a bed becomes available because of her experience of her other patients waiting to long with the uncertainty of living independently.

My blood pressure has been poorly controlled. Changes were made which have potentially significantly aided my health in this area.My blood sugars have been quite unstable.. Changes were made which I believe were necessary and critical to my health. I believe this provider showed significant intelligence in making the changes she did.
