Mary doesn’t have an easy job narrowing g down the man causes of my pain. But she has knowledge and experience in dealing with so many other people that are like me. She is determined to do what will improve my situation, All the while being realistic in telling me the truth that pain is probably going to be part of my life forever, and ways to get it so my pain is less, I so appreciate her being “real” about my situation.

Mary as a provider is doing her job, but in a dysfunctional system. As a specialist, there should be an MRI in her office as part of the care I got that very day. Or, my PCP should’ve been able to send my information to her back in September/October when my first PT failed. Basically, I let the dysfunctional system lead me around in circles because I’ve been trying to respect care providers because I know they work hard. However, I know my body best. I research extensively. I’m trying to be more efficient and informative and helpful by doing my part before I ever reach a medical office. Mary looked puzzled at my visit and questioned why my PCP hadn’t already ordered the MRI. I’m guessing it’s also an insurance issue that’s prevented my PCP from taking the necessary, timely action months ago. My patience is at its end. It took four months of trying to work through your care protocols to wring out my patience. I truly want to champion quality care and encourage care providers. Why is my self advocacy falling short? I’m truly hoping I don’t have permanent nerve or structural gait issues from all of this.

Level of care was superb. I feel like she really took time to listen, especially to the whole picture of my pain. I also like that she wasn’t dismissive of my desire to see a chiropractor and that PT exacerbated things (unluckily for me). NP Vincent’s approach is commendable and others could learn from her.
