The nurses were all wonderful, and Dr. Novoa was marvelous! She told me everything I need to know about my upcoming surgery, and she listened to me regarding concerns I had.

​I have a highly complex, chronic health issue (stage IV DIE endometriosis) that has cost me physically, emotionally, psychologically, and financially over the years. I specifically wanted a specialist—preferably a woman doctor, given my past negative encounters with providers who are men—and I found a needle in a haystack: Dr. Victoria Novoa. After reviewing all the in-network providers in my state, I pleaded with my OBGYN for a referral, and traveled a long distance to see her. The visit was well worth it. ​Dr. Novoa is one of the top doctors you can see if you have endometriosis, and she understandably has a long waitlist. She brings extensive education, FMIGS training, competitive fellowship experience (Henry Ford Health's Complex Benign Fellowship accepts only one fellow a year, ensuring high hands-on experience), Mayo Clinic research, and a high volume of modern clinical practice. Plus, she accepts my ACA insurance. (She didn’t mention any of this but I had researched it.) Despite working in an overburdened healthcare system, she maintains a wonderful bedside manner, deep compassion, excellent communication skills, and a great sense of humility. God bless her. ​Unlike other doctors who dismissed me over the years or failed to review my full history, she took the time to truly assess my complete background before offering her expertise. When I was faced with an impossible decision—considering a second surgery years after a procedure by a different doctor—she listened attentively. She answered my questions in a way I could easily understand, explaining open vs. minimally invasive procedures, excision vs. ablation, and HRT management amid current estrogen supply shortages. I only wish I had found her sooner in the maze of the American—and especially Nevada—healthcare system. Thankfully, the Renown Health system is highly integrated, unlike the fragmented network of providers and hospitals where I am from. It is also worth noting that Renown is a non-profit system, unlike many for-profit mega-hospital chains. ​I am forever grateful for her support and only wish I had met her sooner. Reno and Renown are exceptionally fortunate to have her on board. Ask your doctor for a referral and give her office a call. Judith, Dr. Novoa's MA, was amazing to work with and extremely detailed, and the front desk staff, including Mia, were very kind. A special shoutout to the angel who helped set up my initial patient file, Starr [ ] —she truly went above and beyond. ​If you suffer from a complex women's health condition, I highly recommend checking your insurance to see if Dr. Novoa and her multidisciplinary team are in your network.

The doctor was going to give me a referral, and I am waiting for it. He was very knowledgeable.

Amazing Doctor

The services and providers were excellent. Unfortunately, I had been waiting a very long time for an appointment-- only after getting a referral from my GP was I able to get "in" at women's health. Once there, my experience was excellent.

Dr Novoa and Leah listened to all my concerns provided appropriate education.

I had to have a painful diagnostic exam - endometrial biopsy. Dr Novoa was gentle, thoroughly explained the procedure, and discussed options with me. I felt that she really took the time and listened to my concerns, and she made this experience very patient-centered. I would highly recommend her to others for GYN care.
