Dr. Vera Soong is the ultimate professional. All information is provided and explained in depth. She doesn’t mind answering questions and will give patients the time needed to address concerns. Dr. Soong and office staff consistently wash hands. Added as this is a major concern addressed by UAB.

Saw Dr Soong and Dr ( ). Had thorough exam. Nurse was respectful and took Blood pressure. Everyone used gloves and washed hands.

Everyone was very helpful and courteous. Dr. Soong is very knowledgeable and caring. She puts you at ease by explaining what she will be doing before she begins the exam. She teaches you about any problems she finds and answers any questions. She also has written instructions which helps me remember the treatment plan. I took my mom to see her for years ; so, I was excited when she came to UAB.

All of the staff were great, with the medical staff far above par. Dr. Soong, is absolutely incredible and wonderful ! She is knowledgeable, thorough, effective, quick and she also practices medicine with a genuine kindness, that I have never seen before in my life, in the medical field or in the civilian world. Yes, it sounds crazy, doesn't it, but it is true. I not only wish that more Drs were like Dr. Soong, but the world as well. I believe that God "broke the mold" when he created her, that there would not ever be another, just like her. While this is good, its a shame, too! This world needs a billion more people with Dr. Soong's sincere personality traits and character. I have a friend who came from Caracus, Venezuela, legally and through the immigration process, she became an "American Citizen!" I call her my "Ms. America 🇺🇸 !" I think of Dr. Soong as my "Ms. Wonderful," because she is !

Love my dermatologist and don’t mind waiting for her, but the wait time is very inconvenient, especially when you have small children at home to get back to. An otherwise normal appointment feels like a big sacrifice!

Dr Soong was great. Waiting 40 mins past my appt time not so great. Also waiting another 35 mins after being placed in an exam room wasn’t great.

The doctor that I was seen by, appeared as if she didn’t read my chart upon coming into the room and had students with her. I believe that wasn’t a good example of how prepared a doctor should be. Not only that, she asked what medications I was taking and when I informed her she said “you don’t know the milligrams?” in a way that came off as me not knowing the milligrams was doing her a disservice. She then went to the computer with a student and looked it up on her own and prescribed me a new medication after looking at my prescription list. I have been seen by my primary care physician, another specialist, and a rheumatologist who have the authority to prescribe me medications, while having this same list of medications. I believe that shouldn’t have been prescribed a new medication, if I didn’t have a complaint or change in the way that the medications were performing. Only to have the nurse call me less than two hours later and tell me that the medication that was prescribed at that visit, wasn’t going to work well with one of the medications.
