Staff was very helpful and doctor communicated well and completed successful procedure. But I was misled by anesthesiology. Instead of it being a “piece of cake“ and painless, and being sedated, I had an excruciating experience. I asked before the procedure if I had been sedated, because I did not feel sedated and throughout the procedure, I was aware of every movement the doctor was doing. Fortunately, I did not see everything except the fuzzy shadow of the doctor. I am now more afraid to have the second procedure. I am so disappointed. The doctor offered that I could have general anesthesia, but I’ve never had that before and this is not a major surgery. I was told I should have told someone if my pain, but when one is literally having a knife on their eye, it did not seem to be the proper time to speak or move my head in anyway. I hope in a follow up discussion that my fears can be allayed and that a proper dose of anesthesia can be given to me for a second procedure.

I didn’t feel like I got very much information at my annual checkup. Seems like the first time that my eyes weren’t dilated at an annual visit.

Dr. Tyler Hall and the entire Staff treated me with kindness from the time that I entered the Facility to Check-In to Check-out. I am appreciative for each Staff Member’s patience, courtesy, professionalism & knowledge at UAB Callahan Eye Clinic. They truly care about their Patients. They go above & beyond their Call of Duty to ensure that my Visit is a pleasant one—answering & explaining by using verbiage that I can understand—and all my concerns and/or questions were addressed. I am appreciative for each Staff Member’s patience, courtesy, professionalism & knowledge during & after my Surgery at UAB Callahan Eye Clinic Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Unit. They truly care about their Patients. Even the Anesthesiologist and every single Nurse went above & beyond their Call of Duty to ensure that I was comfortable—and that all my concerns and/or questions were addressed. Dr. Hall has been my eye doctor for years and he is in my opinion the best. He listens to my concerns and I will continue to send family members and friends to him.

It was a normal eye exam visit, with exception of the bad news of high pressure in left eye, which caused an urgency to have the cataract in the same eye removed asap. So the best part of the visit was the feeling that I was in good hands, even though I am very concerned about the surgery.

Dr Tyler Hall is a fabulous eye doctor. I came to him after a botched cataract surgery. For 2 years he has worked with me, sent me to retina specialists, operated on me and gotten my right eye as good as he can. I trust him enough that he will do my left cataract surgery next week!!
