Easily understood advice

I called for a ‘hospitalization follow-up appointment’ with my PCP following open heart surgery. I was told first that she wasn’t available for at least one month. The PA, Twanya May, was excellent. She asked me to return in one month to see my PCP, but the scheduler told me that I had an appointment in January and my doctor didn’t have any appointments until March. I don’t know how it can take 6 months to see the doctor. This has never happened before, and I have been a patient of Dr. Elizabeth Smith for over 10 years. The worst part is that I had hip replacement surgery on September 11th and open heart surgery (quadruple bypass surgery) on September 20th. I was told that I needed to see my PCP immediately as I left the hospital and also by my home care nurse. I, also, felt like I needed to see her for my own peace of mind, following back-to-back major surgeries. I know and trust Dr. Smith. For her part, PA May was excellent and attempted to get me an appointment with Dr. Smith in addition. I feel that the staff didn’t give my situation the priority that it warranted. They should have worked me in.

i did leave a message on Friday, 8/4 around 10 (Fridays office closes at 22:30 PM. Disappointed that i to date Sat, 8/5, noon, i have not received a return call.

Twana May, PA was very great, but my complaint is the lack of follow up after receiving worrisome test results. I don’t know if this is an office staff problem or if she had to wait for Dr. Brooks to return, but I feel like someone should have at least returned my call and explained. I told Ms. May that I was leaving town and she rushed the test to make sure we had answers before my trip, but this office did not respond.

I had a great experience. It was a emergency and I was able to get help right away. I usually see Dr. Farmer he was full that week, the receptionist ( Erin) was able to get me to see T Dulaney May and she was awesome! Thank you for taking care of me.

When a doctor prescribes medicine to treat my problem and I get well, I definitely recommend him/her to others.

I was prescribed antibiotics but Ms. May forgot to send it in. I had an 11:15am appointment and I finally was able to get my medicine at:5:45pm. This was after 2 visits to the pharmacy, several conversations with the pharmacy, 2 calls to the answering service and 2 conversations with Ms. Mays leaving me stressed. I don’t drive so I had to rely on a friend to help me with this the entire day.
