Dr Shen and his assistant not sure what her name was were what I have been looking for ,he gets great reviews and he does robotics which was what I have wanted for my future knee surgery

Every aspect of my initial consultation w Dr Shen and his physicians assistant Caitlyn was as comprehensive in understanding personal complexities to integrate a management plan that will be palliative prehab through surgery. Whether the facilities, X-ray coordination, compassion of care I don’t think I could imagine a greater sense of confidence in any medical environment. I look forward to working with the HSS sports Medicine team and PT to fortify my knee replacement(s) with foresight and strategic planning for the future. Given my medical experience and “wisdom” I could not ask for more. I left with a great sense of hope and confidence that I never could have anticipated. Superb is an understatement especially from someone like myself.

Dr. Shen understands the incapacities of patients with bone problems. He is a fantastic surgeon, that I'm having my other hip done from him. I trust his abilities implicitly and his education is phenomenal.

My recovery has far exceeded my expectations. I have taken zero pain meds since 48 hours after surgery not even Tylenol. I would like to mention Katy the PA in the operating room who held my hands while I said a quick prayer before they put me under. That was very comforting and appreciated!

After my X-rays I wasn’t told that I should be in the adjacent waiting area. I was where I usually was in the past. The dr was across the hall. After about an hour past my appointment time someone came across and found me.

The assistant or resident who spoke to me prior to Dr Shen was particularly helpful. In response to my expressing regret about losing height over ther the past several years, she discussed some of the causes for losing height that I had not heard of before.

scheduling a hip replacement surgery is excessively long wait - 3 months!! I have pain everyday and waiting 3 months is very disappointing to say the least

HSS providers are exceptional in every way. PA listened very attentively, and surgeon answered all my questions. Further, they were able to schedule surgery at a date that met my needs.
