My ratings on Theresa are due to my previous experience with her and not necessary this specific appt. Previously when I had seen her (previous pregnancy), she did not look at my chart prior to speaking with me. I came in following having COVID in my first trimester and a history of a previous miscarriage. She came off very accusatory about how I should have called to let them know I had Covid (couple wks prior) because this required additional monitoring and medication. I informed her that I DID call and they did not make me aware that any of that was needed. She starting speaking about additional hemorrhage risks and other risks they were seeing frequently in a way that was not sensitive to my history of infertility and miscarriage. I’m all about having the necessary information to make informed decisions, but the patient history and sensitivity was very much lacking in this encounter. So much so that I remembered her name, in order NOT to schedule with her for this pregnancy.

I came in for my yearly, Pap smear Breastexam…they did not do pap .Stated the chances of me getting cancer,is slim , but that’s not the point I wanted my yearly pap ..

Didn't wear gloves when doing a breast exam didn't wash hands before or after either. Didn't offer urine sample immediately was going to use speculum I had to ask not to because it didn't seem necessary. Was told about the centered pregnancy program and wanted to join but the nurse after explaining everything to me later said there was no other pregnant people at the same range as me without any other offers to join a different location etc

She did not solve my problem. I knew I had a prolapse, but she wasn't able to confirm what was prolapse or provide a pessary.

The office and clinical staff were welcoming and professional. I waited an appropriate length of time and was very happy with the outcome of my appointment, and the ease of scheduling my next appointment.

I was disappointed in the care I received and felt I wasn’t taken seriously. I’m sure Theresa Starr provides great care to many of her patients, but in my case I did not feel my concerns were taken seriously. When my husband saw his Trinity Health doctor for possible low testosterone, bloodwork was done right away. In contrast, I was told at 46 I am young for the average menopauseal age and was recommended cooling sheets and a dietitian, never mentioned bloodwork to see if what i am struggling with is hormonal. This left me feeling dismissed, and unfortunately reinforced my perception that women’s health concerns are not taken as seriously at Trinity Health. I wish Trinity Health approached the premenapausal chapter with more understanding and care.

Theresa Starr is a blessing. I am honest when I say she changed how I feel about Trinity as a whole. I had had such terrible experiences in my past and her caring and understanding care helped and eased my anxiety.

I feel she was very patient and understanding. As a first-time mom I also appreciate she asked questions to bring up common symptoms I hadn't mentioned because I wasn't sure if it was pregnancy related or just part of my allergies/the weather.
