Listens to his patients. Cares. Takes the time to let you know he hears you and understands. I saw two orthopedics in my area before coming to HHS and dealing with agonizing pain that pushed myself through because the last provider said my back was ok. Had terrible leg pains, right side worse, could not even stand straight. I’m a floor nurse. I could barely take it. When I saw Dr. [ ] he didn’t even know how I was still walking. At that time right before I saw them my right leg would not work. Driving I could not move my leg to hit the brake pedal. I already had them scheduled to see me for a third opinion. Right away when I saw Dr. Sarpong he knew what was wrong and so did Dr. [ ] I have no more pain just a hard to have a second surgery from Dr. Owusu Sarpong to remove seroma’s that were deep and painful. I just had my drains removed a couple days ago and I’m dealing with some seromas again, but hopefully these seroma’s will go away.

Dr. Owusu-Sarpong was the true definition of professional. He was attentive, caring and compassionate. He listened to me. Really listened to me fully. He placed my mind totally at ease and took away any and all doubts and or fears. He is a definite asset to the HSS team.

Having had a second surgery for seroma's and being in terrible pain for three months my surgeon listened and I needed a second surgery. Just having drains removed I again have seroma's in the area of the drains. Hoping they go away naturally this time. Have been in contact with surgeon and sending pictures to show issues. Surgeon response immediately to messaging very caring. And understanding.

Dr. Stephane Owusu-Sarpong was extremely professional, knowledgeable, caring, thoughtful and he took his time to examine me thoroughly. He explained everything thoroughly, including using models to demonstrate what is currently occurring with my spine. This he did when I saw him in person and virtually for my follow up visit. We need more professionals like him who are educated, diligent, patient and who have the requisite interpersonal relationship skills and bedside manners. Kudos to your health team doctors and nurses and support staff especially Mr. Moataz [ ] !

From day one I felt like the doctor was on my team. Even without sharing the same hobbies which my condition prevented me from, he was empathetic and immediately motivated me by lining up recovery goals with returning to the activities that I love. I appreciate the doctor's humble approach and bedside manner, as I always feel confident that he's giving me straightforward opinions. He also translates complex medical diction to a more approachable standpoint for the average person so I felt totally knowledgeable about what was happening during my surgery. I was impressed by his dedication to my recovery, checking in almost every day that I was in the hospital and calling the day after I was discahrged to check in. He was particularly patient with my questions as I struggle with anxiety in medical environments. I would recommend him to anyone who is overwhelmed and nervous about a procedure.
