Clinical Staff very courteous and thoughtful. Dr Iyer discussed several options with me and answered my questions. I am a retired Nurse, it is comfortable that staff explains things in a logical manner and listens to my concerns for both pre- op and Postoperative care.

Extremely pleased with the recent visit/consulattion as soon as you walk into the facility are greeted warmly with a smile with receptionist. I arrived 1 & 1/2 hours early as i had a five hour drive. Very well maintained facility clean as a whistle. Decided to wait rather than go out looking for a cafe. Took the elevator up to second floor and huge comfortable waiting area and was immediately welcomed by two personable staff members. Felt very at ease and just their wonderful demeanor making me relaxed. Then my name was called out by nurse Amanda who ushered me into the examination room early as it was 12:45 and my scheduled appointment was for 1:30. She took my vitals and said Dr. Iyer would be in shortly in fact 15 minuts ahead of schedule. He presented himself with outstretch handshake and presented to review my recent MRI's he ordered. Put to rest any concerns i had and gave me a strength test of my arms and hands to exclude the root cause of my recent temporary hand tremors were not coming from my severe spinal canal stenosis of my cervical spine. I was elated to find I did not need any surgical procedure and ended up with a eye to eye and handshake that ended my visit. I recommend to anyone needing medical intervention with great staff and clean facility to come to the HSS at White Plains. In fact he had performed a lamenictomy on my brother several years earlier with having great success in relieving the pain he had in his lumbar region for over a year and put a smile on his face very thankful for his services.. Dr. Iyer is easygoing, optimistic, and very skilled. Spine surgery is something where you want the surgeon to be beyond expert but also totally relaxed and confident in what they do.

I found him to be an extremely rare combination of smart but humble when he didn't know an answer and available, kind, and patient with me even though I ask a lot of questions.

Dr. Iyer explained my problems very carefully and in a detailed way so I could understand my surgery options. He spent a lot of time answering my questions and was extremely patient and kind. I was very impressed with his obvious expert knowledge and with the potential solutions to my issues that he described.

The reason I did not give a 10 out of 10 is because the doctor was 20+ minutes late, had not reviewed the images prior to the meeting and when I tried to call the hospital to find out what was going on the phone system was down and I couldn't get through. That said I really like Dr. Iyer and he seemed very knowledgeable and was straightforward.

Dr Iyer is not only a skillful, knowledgeable, superior surgeon; but also very compassionate and empathetic to the fear that accompanies this kind of surgery. He took the time to explain everything both to the myself (patient) and my daughter and various intervals during my surgery. I would rate him higher than "Very Good" - he is Excellent.
