I absolutely love UAB, especially their lab technicians! They get a 10!! BUT.. Dr. Priscilla Fowler displayed a notable lack of empathy and compassion during my recent appointments, demonstrating rude behavior across my last three to four visits. Having dealt with eye issues for over 30 years, I have never encountered a doctor who spoke to me in such a manner. This pattern of behavior is not new, and I fear it will continue if I remain under her care. During my last visit, I informed her that my vision was poor and my eyes were in pain. Despite this, she handled my eyes without regard for my concerns and raised her voice at me in front of my daughter and her assistant, leaving them visibly shocked. Experiencing such treatment, especially when in pain or facing potential blindness, is deeply distressing. It appears that some doctors lack genuine care for their patients. At the Callahan Eye Foundation, no other doctor has ever spoken to me in this way. Dr. Fowler should demonstrate more dignity and respect toward her patients. Her behavior is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Despite all of this, the receptionists & other doctors are respectful.

The score could be higher but the wait time was long, my appointment time was 1:20 but I did not get seen until 2:20pm.

Dr. Fowler was very proficient and thorough. She addressed the issue and needed treatment immediately and established a clear instructions for future action.

My appt was at 7:45 and I was called back at 9am. The receptionist wasn't willing to inform us of the delays. It was not until 3 of us asked if there was a problem did she go back and question the delay. And even at that she only said you are next and I said no the lady sitting beside me had an appt at 7:40. Then we overheard another pt discussing Dr Fowler's last day being Friday. 3 days away. We had just changed from Dr [ ] to Dr Fowler in May and now she is leaving. Needless to say we all were very upset. So we will all 3 be leaving Callahan and going to her new practice
