The Dermatology Clinic is well run and efficient. Dr. Mercado's friendly, expert care inspires confidence--always a pleasure to be there.

I have had other dermatologists do skin checks. They do a cursory glance in about 15 seconds, and none are nearly as thorough as Dr. Mercado. I also appreciate that she dictates her notes so that we know there is a record in case anything she sees changes in the future.

The staff was very kind and attentive. The RN ( I've forgotten her name) who took my history and vitals was very compassionate and kind. Dr Mercado and her resident listened and addressed all of my issues well. They were gracious to help me with a new rash that was not what the original appointment was made for.

It was my first appointment, I had waited until I could get appointment because I have been dealing with other Doctors here in [state]. I am so happy to get in the loop to get some things took care of that I have been dealing with for over 20 years.

I did not have to wait for a long time. Things are very efficient and everyone is considerate of my time. I also feel that the doctor and nurses take all the time I need and never make me feel rushed.

Friendly. Do not wait long time to see doctor after checking in to waiting room and do not wait a long time after getting into exam room to see doctor. Doctors are thorough and answer my questions. Are friendly. Do not have trouble making appointments for follow up

Dr. Mercado has been my dermatologist for several years, and with her experience, she immediately knew what needed to be done. I was included in the discussion throughout the biopsy that was done and was informed what the next steps would be.

My provider showed very little interest in educating me about my skin condition and options that have been tried. Her answers were short and dismissive. I never felt like she invested in me as a patient, or my care. Very disappointing experience compared to other providers in my 27+ years receiving care at UAB.

The reason for my score is that because of the staff that saw me during my visit, the nurse and the doctor that came to the room to talk to me had very bad attitudes , rude and obnoxious, I was trying to tell the one nurse about my condition I was having in my face and that I have been having this issue since I was a kid and the medication they prescribed me then and that I wanted to have them prescribe it to me since it worked best for me and I’m not the kinda person who wants to experiment with new medication, but any how the nurse tried her best to convince me she has never heard of it before untill I showed her an image and then all of a sudden she knew what I was talking about, and even then she still didn’t want to prescribe it for me she wanted to “try” something else and once again I do not want to be experimented on, the nurse and doctor where rude and seems as if they were mad that I knew what helped my skin condition and that I knew the name of it and they responses were short simple and they walked out of the room whispering I felt uncomfortable
