This was the first visit to establish a family doctor/general practitioner. But I felt rushed through the visit. Doctor Othersen did not seem interested at all in me or my medical needs. I left with questions unanswered because there was no dialogue.

I love her! She is great! Very responsive, listens to your concerns and takes the time to go over the plan at the end of the appt. She is compassionate and when she thought I may have a blood clot got me in for an ultrasound same day and pushed for me to have a same say CT to check my lungs. She was very concerned and took my worries seriously then moved quickly for diagnosis.

Dr. Othersen is very professional and caring as well as quite knowledgeable and a good listener. She makes sure to address all concerns and answer any questions to the fullest. She is thorough in her diagnostic procedure and makes sure that her patients understand their conditions and the best way to proceed in their care for the best outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Othersen.

The reason for my score is mainly because of the doctor I have. She is too quick. I’m in and out within 10-20 minutes even after 3+ orders she requested for me that I wanted to go over. She didn’t dive deep into ANY tests I underwent/took for my physical and sent me on my way. She told me everything was “normal” but all the knowledge she has she didn’t explain deeper how it was normal or reassure me further. She asks questions but I don’t feel like the team effort is to be sure I’m fully reassured. She is too quick during appts even with my concerns, I don’t have confidence after her being my first doctor through Franciscan. I wish she would slow down and talk with me more about my concerns and not just put in quick orders for test just to tell me I’m fine. She acts as a middle man and not my main doctor. She DID get me my orders quickly and with great places I loved that so much. But she needs to slow down with her patients, it would show she cared more.

She was very professional and felt very well prepared for me! I felt comfortable disclosing all of my information and felt encouraged to speak about my issues. She gave very relevant advice and spoke on my health issues both broad and narrow. She also supported many of my approaches to health and but gave guidance in areas that I did not feel as confident in! Very happy :)

Dr. Othersen and her staff are amazing. They literally saved my life when they caught my colorectal cancer in 2021 (resending the cologuard after I recklessly lost part of the original kit). I followed Dr. Otherson from Beech Grove down to Greenwood, despite the additional driving time, which is significant for me. She's an amazing, thorough, careful, responsive doctor. I feel very fortunate to have found her.
