Dr. Thompson's assistant, who was a resident I believe, handled most of the appointment. And after reading the summary and notes, which I received on-line, it looked like he did the notes and summary and basically reflected much of what I had answered in completing the form questionaire while waiting in the office to go in for the appointment. Dr. Biederman was excellent. I really appreciated him as my treating Endocrinologist for many years.

Dr. Thompson is an asset to Holy Cross.

Nurse Linda was amazing.

Gladly. I met Dr. Thompson as a patient in Holy Cross. She was not my Dr at the time as I wasn't Dx'ed as a diabetic yet. But I was impressed by her bedside treatment of the patient who was very sick and blood sugars out of control. The patient required full assistance to get in and out of bed. Dr. Novelette would do the patients blood sugar herself if the Nurses hadn't checked it yet r/t short staff. She would sit the patient up and assist her with meal tray. And as she did her physical assessment of the patient she would encourage her to eat her meal. The patient would be hypoglycemic sometimes because she needed assistance with eating. Sometimes her sugars would be too high.Her family was out of the country. Some days I watched as Dr Thompson would teach the Nurse and the patient at bedside re diabetes, her diet and snacks. She encouraged the Nurse to order foods off diabetic diet that she liked to eat. Having been a nurse for over 30 yrs at that time - I saw first hand how this Dr cared for patients and the Nurses. Her knowledge of the Disease and willingness to teach the Nurses and the patient who was a brittle diabetic. Her hands on approach. I put Dr. Thompson's name & number in my phone to recommend. One day in the future I needed an Endocrinologist. And told my family to call her and make an appointment. After my heart transplant - she made sure I had a sooner than later appointment. She reviewed all meds and did teaching on the anti-rejection meds especially the Prednisone and side effects. She always teach you as she hands on physical assessment. Always examines my feet as she teaches foot care and why. She reviews all lab work, other tests as she instructs to do annual Diabetic Standard of care. And she listens to her patients.

Dr Thompson is very personable and seems interested in keeping me healthy.
