This Doctor went the extra steps and found my problem with a Staf infection why I kept get hip revision since 2017 my hip got worse Dr Brown got me walking unassisted again. Thank you Dr Brown again.

Dr Brown is very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He spent a minimum amount of time with me; it was a one-year post-surgery visit, and it probably didn't warrant more time, although I had some questions about my non-surgical knee that I asked him to address.

I had a fall earlier this month and injured my right knee and hip. Both the knee and hip were the subject of a longstanding painful condition. I went to Loyola's urgent care, where a doctor did a brief exam and ordered xrays. The doctor and staff were excellent. At the doctor's suggestion, I called Loyola scheduling and asked to see a doctor who could address both the knee and the hip. I was given an appointment with Dr. Brown. Dr. Brown and someone he identified as a medical student arrived promptly, and I described the fall and the preexisting condition of my right leg. At some point early on I said that i wasn't looking for knee surgery, and I think at that point he lost interest. He said that the xrays showed the knee was bone on bone and needed to be replaced. End of story. No further discussion on the knee was to be had. Then did a cursory test on my hip in which he bent my bad knee to push it across my chest. He pushed so hard that I let out an involuntary shout. I think he actually exacerbated the knee injury. I think he was embarrassed, and may have madea perfunctory apology. I told him I wanted to know whether the longstanding hip pain might be related to deterioration in my lumbar spine. He said that the only way he could tell would be to give me a shot in the hip and see what happens. As with the knee injury, end of story. There was no further discussion to be had.I don't believe I have ever encountered a doctor who was, during an examination, less interested, less curious or less empathetic. Looking back, the worst part was that he gave this performance in front of a student (resident?). I wonder what she thought of it.

Dr. Brown in my mind is a lifesaver. The condition of my knee, my leg, needed a mind like his to determine what course of action and in concert with other doctors provided me the care that has enabled me to stand up and walk today. I am thankful to God for Dr. Brown.
