I am normally seen first by one of the Residents who then goes to get Dr. Gonzalez to come in for a quick check of what the Resident feels is noteworthy. But during this visit, I was seen only by Dr. Gonzalez, so I received much more of her time in evaluating any areas of concern in terms of my biannual skin check. It felt much more personal as a result, which I appreciate from the primary provider.....not that I have any complaints about any of the previous Residents who I've encountered during visits.

Dr. Gonzalez does a very thorough inspection of my skin (all over body check) She explained the procedure for the skin biopsy above my right breast. She verbally explained the care at home. She also gave me written Instructions on care at home of the site. She discussed the very small Actinic Keratosis close to the right eye. She explained the procedure for removal and aftercare at home. She exudes confidence. She is kind and listens attentively. She is very knowledgeable, thorough and kind.

Dr Gonzalez explained the procedure and how I would receive the results. In addition to Mychart, she called to give me the result, asked me about questions I might have, and when to expect contact about the surgery.

Besides Dr. Gonzalez, there was another doctor who saw me first and did preliminary observations. Both Dr. Gonzalez and the other doctor were courteous and listened to my questions and concerns.

She did not have any bedside manner. She seemed rushed and like she did it enjoy what she was doing. I got bad news that I had to have skin cancer from my lips and she just kept talking about how bad it was going to be for me in terms of treatment. When I asked questions I felt like I was bothering her. It was my first experience with skin cancer and I need to know my options. As a result I am going to another provider for a second opinion.
