I also really appreciate my rheumatologist. She is serious and attentive, and I feel that she truly listens to my concerns. After seeing several other rheumatologists who attributed my symptoms to fibromyalgia, I finally felt that my concerns were being taken seriously. I also had concerns about osteopenia, and my current doctor was willing to look into it further rather than dismissing my concerns. It started with the fact that they cater more to new patients which allowed me to see a specialist much sooner than any others. The receptionist and the nurse (sorry I forget their names) were so nice and helpful with any questions/needs I had. Dr. Collins was extremely helpful, thorough and very nice.

So I saw Dr. Collins and it was an extremely lukewarm visit. She spent probably barely 10 minutes with me, which is fine, but she totally was not a warm person, didn't seem she wanted to be there, and she didn't even tell me when she's going to follow up, so I have no idea if anyone will even bother to call me back. And the same thing with the staff, I had to do a urine test. They sort of kind of just like, you know, they didn't even want to tell me, you know, where to put the stuff. They just, they didn't even look at me when they said, oh, okay, I guess we could put it over here. So they just randomly point out a place and I put my urine sample there. You know, there was, it just wasn't a very warm visit. And she just did the standard test questionings and I still don't know where I'm going to get my monthly infusion from. I have absolutely no idea who's going to follow up, when they're going to follow up. I think she just ?

No matter how frequent you see Dr. Collins. She still takes her time to explain everything. Dr. Collins is the best every time!

Dr. Collins has unimaginably improved my quality of life. I have been seeing her for just over a year and a half after a hospitalization at HUMC. Since the beginning, she took every little detail relating to my symptoms seriously which has helped her to create a detailed and accurate treatment plan. My symptoms are atypical and where I have had other providers dismiss or diminish my experiences, she is instead persistent in helping me every step of the way. I now live life more symptom and pain free than I ever thought possible, and she is constantly trying to make my condition even more manageable. Her attention to detail in this way is demonstrated by how much time she spends with me during her visits. I have never felt rushed during my visits and she always follows up as discussed. She is very timely in reporting back on test results and maintains open communication by phone and MyChart messaging. I cannot recommend a better provider than Dr. Melinda Collins. Her technicians and secretary are also outstanding and make an excellent team. They are remarkably professional, skilled, and efficient. It is always easy to make an appointment at the office or virtually and I appreciate getting my lab work taken care of at my visits.
