The surgeon seemed thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable, thorough, and competent. He also did a very good job of conveying the most crucial information to me in a way that I was able to understand and retain despite my being confused by pain and worry about the fractures and the surgery. He created the feeling that I could ask any question, and that there was time for more questions.

This was my fist visit. I was not aware this teriffic facility was located nearby. Wonderful experience.

Dr Abola has that rare ability of combining professional and personal. He listened to accounts of how my diagnosis impacts my career duties as well as my hobbies. He not only explained treatment options and goals, but went as far as to draw diagrams to ensure I had a clear understanding. Honestly, he was my second opinion, but is now my first choice for care. Thank you again!!

Dr. Abola is great. From our first meeting he listened, explained, answered questions and is very easy to talk to. The day of surgery he came up to my wife and I and we again spoke prior to surgery, for sure putting her at ease. During the procedure everything was explained as it was happening, we talked about our families and he even sang a bit as some good tunes played. Besides being an excellent surgeon, he can carry a tune! LOL. The staff in the OR was excellent as well and a shout out to Bernard [ ]. Who took care of me prior to and after my surgery. Thanks to all. Your care and professionalism was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend HSS as I’ve been here several times over the years. Love my surgeons (Jo [ ] now retired, Anne [ ] and Dr Matthew Abola).
