I was so impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and patient centered care from both Kayla, the PA and Dr. Austin. I feel like I have a very good understanding of how to manage my issue in the short term and the long-term. They were both phenomenal.

Kayla the PA is very knowledgeable and listens to your concerns. I've recommended Dr. Austin to someone; she was pleased that he told her she doesn't need surgery. He's honest. Forthright, but in a very nice way.

Dr. Austin inspires confidence. He engaged me at every step of the process with respect, courtesy and understanding of my condition. He explained both procedures (total knee replacement, partial knee replacement) clearly along with pros and cons of each.

I recently had a consultation with Dr. Matthew Austin regarding a possible knee replacement. After carefully reviewing my x-rays and MRI, he determined that I did not need knee replacement surgery at this time.
I truly appreciated his honesty and conservative approach. Rather than recommending surgery unnecessarily, he took the time to explain my condition clearly and discuss alternative options. I felt heard, respected, and confident in his assessment. It is reassuring to find a surgeon who prioritizes the patient’s best interest over performing a procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Matthew Austin to anyone seeking an honest, knowledgeable and caring orthopedic evaluation.

This was my first experience with HSS and with Dr Matthew Austin.
After waiting 5 years to decide on hip replacement meeting Dr Austin and being informed of the details of the surgery put my mind at ease. He is knowledgeable, caring, courteous and an excellent surgeon. So grateful he has improved my quality of life.
