We were referred to Dr. Schmidt by [staff] following an evaluation for CIDP which was no longer present. At that point, we were still searching for answers-trying to understand what was truly going on. We're incredibly grateful to have been connected with her and to have secured an appointment. It feels like a meaningful step forward. Now, we can focus on what matters most: maintaining independence, support mobility, and nurturing overall wellness - one steady step at a time.

Maria Schmidt DNP was absolutely amazing. A very brilliant woman, kind, compassionate and very thorough. She LISTENED to everything I had to say. Did a complete exam with explanations during her examination. Was honest and kind in giving us informaton we expected but had been denying. She has a wonderful sense of humor which is a blessing. Unlike the other male neurologists I saw at Virginia Commonwealth Neurology, she did not marginalize me, speak down to me or show any distaste due to my body size.
