Dr. Abels really goes above and beyond for her patients. She is so caring and understanding, always responds to my messages and questions in a timely manner. She is always patient and empathetic and really does her best to make me feel at ease. Thank you!

She is a very kind and caring physician. I changed my insurance plan to be able to retain her as my primary care physician as old plan no longer covered Mercy for PCP.

Normally I feel defeated when I leave a doctor's office. Especially over treating my weird neck issue that is decades old.... after doing PT last spring, I was losing my sanity over the pain level when it flares up. Dr. Abels didn't dismiss me. She didn't make me go to yet another doctor (I am overwhelmed with specialists that still don't listen). And she asked me to follow up with my allergist (that does listen) to ask for an epipen (which I have done). The concept that I won't have to feel like I am dying everytime my neck does its weird thing is a blessing that I will be thankful for.

She is the best. I am in my early 50s, work in health care, and have had many PCPs- Dr. Abels is literally the best PCP I have ever had.

I have been a nurse for over 50 years and did quality assurance for a hospital at one point so am knowledgable in judging quality standards and patient outcomes. Dr. Abels is an excellent doctor, second to none in my opinion.

Dr Abels is knowledgeable and caring. At first appointment with herShe found a med id been on for over a year was causing my cough. And id been to many other doctors throughout the past year for the cough. She removed that med and replaced it with another that is working well for me. She has also given me the resources to get healthier and stay healthy. Knowing that someone really cares makes me feel like taking care of myself, if that makes sense.
