I waited a few days to do this survey because I didn’t want to do it while I was stressed or upset. It started at my very first pcp visit to get establish Dr Krodel. I have never had a pcp where I could not discuss certain things about my health. I mentioned at that visit that I had foot pain and was told immediately that Dr. Krodel would not discuss pain at this visit, that if I wanted to talk about my pain I needed to schedule a visit with her in the afternoon in her sports medicine clinic. I was not happy at that time because she did not take the time to even see if I needed referred to a sports medicine MD, not to mention that referral was to herself. Then at my Yearly physical appointment on December 23, she wanted to do labs in 6 months to monitor my GFR and follow up with her a week later. I explained to her that I had made a mistake signed up for high deductible insurance this year and was concerned about the cost of healthcare and would prefer to see her in one year for a physical. I stated I could have the labs done in 6 months and she could review them and let me know if she needed to see me. She stated “you are asking me to do extra work for no compensation” and she stated “you wouldn’t ask your lawyer to do that”. Information from Franciscan tells me after I have lab work done if I haven’t heard from my MD after a week regarding the results to call the office. It is her job to review the labs she ordered and let the patient know if there is an issue or not. Then after letting her know I was trying to drink lots of water, she noted my bottle of water and stated “you might want to get a filtration system on your water at home and use a water jug so you can stop polluting the environment with the plastic bottle. She’s rude and is not in anyway an example of the Franciscan values she is supposed to uphold.

Dr. Krodel was very thorough, listened to my concerns, reviewed my x-rays with me and provided me some options for post visit therapy. She didn't make light of my situation and provided the best course of action for the issue with my shoulder.

Dr. Krodel cares and counsels with forthright conversation, optimism, and joy. You never feel like she is in a hurry to get to the next appointment, she looks directly at you in conversation, not at the computer. She is witty, comfortable, caring, and outstanding.

She’s one of the best. Advice is strong and not sugar coated. She doesn’t reach for a pill/injection as primary solution. Her diagnostic skills compliment the attempts for least invasive means to cure.
