Dr. Kelly went above and beyond to explain everything clearly and created an environment where I felt completely comfortable and safe. He took the time to walk me through the details of my condition, breaking down complex medical information in a way that was easy to understand without ever oversimplifying it. His depth of knowledge was immediately evident — he not only explained the “what,” but also the “why” behind every recommendation.
As an athlete, I was especially impressed by his understanding of performance demands, recovery timelines, and injury prevention. He was able to connect medical expertise with real-world athletic application, which gave me tremendous confidence in his guidance. His professionalism, insight, and calm demeanor exceeded all of my expectations. I never felt rushed, and it was clear that he genuinely cared about both my short-term recovery and long-term success. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Kelly if you’re looking for highly knowledgeable, attentive, and patient-centered care.

This was an initial surgical consultation, and Dr. Kelly was extraordinarily thorough and detailed in his explanation of my case and possible treatments, and attentive to my questions and comments. I got the sense of a serious, thoughtful, kind doctor; it was a very reassuring conversation.

Dr. Kelly was amazing! He saw me at least 4 times while I was in the hospital. He made me feel like I was be heard and validated. He is still there reassuring, by phone or message. I'm so very thankful that I made the choice to come to HSS. Dr. Kelly has empathy and compassion for his patients. I definitely feel blessed to be his patient.

Previous to my appointment with Dr Kelly, I’d seen 2 spinal surgeons, who had both recommended surgery for severe lumbar stenosis. Dr. Kelly explored other options, ordered additional tests and suggested less invasive solutions. He is thorough and attentive. He was engaged and examined me thoroughly. I can honesty say he was the best doctor ever!!

Dr. Kelly is such a wonderful doctor. He is kind, thorough, honest, and explains everything so well, but makes sure the patient can understand it. Most surgeons rush to perform surgery. He told me he wants to absolutely rule out any other issues before considering surgery. I truly appreciate that, as ACDF surgery is not easy. As my issues are getting worse, and I'm thinking surgery is inevitable, I feel very confident in the fact that Dr. Kelly is my surgeon.
