I received confirmation of my recent hEDS diagnosis. I learned a bit more about my condition. My questions and concerns were addressed. I felt like I was treated with respect and my health concerns were validated.

Excellent experience!! My provider, Kaitlin Callaway, was fabulous. She listened carefully and provided great information and helpful suggestions that will be highly beneficial. She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and compassionate. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

Nurse practitioner that I had my appointment with didn't seem very engaged in the appointment and wasn't even planning to do the genetic test that I was referred there for until I requested we move forward with it. I had to wait 8 months for this appointment and it lasted about 10 minutes. I feel like the blood sample for my genetic test could have been done at any doctor's office and didn't require waiting and traveling to Birmingham. I think the genetic testing should have been done ahead of this appointment so the results could have guided the appointment.

I did not receive any further information concerning my condition. I used the portal to contact my provider, she has read it and still has not responded weeks/month later now. Only saw the CNRP, which is fine, but I would like her to communicate back. She told me if I had questions to go through the portal which I did.
The communication from the facility was lacking. I was unsure on where to go after receiving my appointment time. I was just told to go to the Kirkland clinic. So, that was overwhelming and nerve racking especially for someone with severe anxiety.
Overall I think communication and bedside manner should be addressed.
