the way she explains stuff, it is really easy to understand, she listens more than other doctors, and she communicates very well

Julie Hilario was amazing. Very kind and did everything she could to find answers for me. She was very thorough, she listened to what I have to say and seemed interested. She is a great Doctor and will recommend her to anyone needing her services.

Dr. did little to help me understand my circumstances...said my "spells" were suppressed feelings, it was all in my head and to see a professional...she just kept repeating herself and didn't find another route to understand

Julie Hilario really has tried to treat my health issues. What I appreciate most about Dr.Hilario is her willingness to run test and look for answers with outside Medical facilities (Mao Clinic). I would recommend Julie to anyone; she's smart and cares!

Bad...where do I start? She refused to believe I had a stroke when I was 3 because she had no imaging in front of her. I had meningitis, encephalitis, and a stroke all from strep throat at that age. But she challenged me and was skeptical about the stroke. Did she have a blank slate in front of her or something? only a list of my current meds? What exactly did Dr. Ania hand over to her? She clearly has no idea what me and my family have been through. I have seen specialist at UC Davis, Stanford, UCSF...All have confirmed everything I told her. I have my records on hand at my house. Do I really need to show her my 3 inch binder full of my life? Just because the imaging isn't there for convenience doesn't mean it didn't happen to me. Secondly, she actually thought of switching my medicine that I've been on for at least 18 years. Um..no. not happening. I've been stable for just that long, no seizures and I have a driver's license. Switching meds would be catastrophic, because in her chart it shows the laundry list of meds I'm allergic to and the ones that didn't work. Those were my rough younger heading into teenage years, lots of trial and error with meds. I can't afford to be doing that crap now. Thirdly, she wanted me to get my blood work done so badly, but never got a blood panel slip ready for me. Must not be that important I guess. I refuse to come back to her after this year and demand to see Dr. Ania whatever it takes.

High pressure appointment, I repeatably said I wanted to leave. My brain had stopped working and I was feeling very confused, anxious and pressured and unable to make decisions.

I most likely would not recommend this provider to others. Her services have been fair but not above average. This visit I did inquire to the Medical Assistant of how I would go about switching providers. He did inform me of how to start the process. I do believe me wanting to switch providers was relayed to Hillario before she entered the room. It feels like Hillario's treatment this last visit was much better due to my inquiry to the medical assistant.

First person to actually listen and provide me information concerning reasons for my seizures that gave me a better understanding of what may be causing my seizures. Also, her imaging and EEG suggestions were taken to heart and I was extremely grateful to find a Neurologist who actually was concerned and even cared.

My only complaint is that she hadn't reviewed my case beforehand, so I was having to explain to her stuff that I know was in my chart. I like it better when they inform themselves before they see me.
