I was a bedside RN for 41 years, and have several RN friends who had total knee replacements performed by Dr. Jose Rodriguez, all of whom highly recommended him to all of we other RN’s throughout many years. (RN’s do hold empties to the highest standards of care.!)
One RN friend of mine told me that her total knee replacements (both knees) were done 20 years ago by Dr. Rodriguez, and she stated they are both still holding up extremely well without any issues. ((She is at least 10 years older than me and lives a very active lifestyle!).
For this reason, I chose Dr. Rodriguez and HSS for my total knee replacement. It was a pleasure to meet him and he explained everything about my current knee and the operation and the post recovery period very well, and realistically what I should expect! I literally am looking forward to my operation with Dr. Rodriguez, without any fear, but rather with great relief to be his patient
I will add that my husband was present during my visit and was quite impressed by the professionalism of each person from the front desk to the PA (or fellow) who came into the examining room first, as well as Dr. Rodriguez of course, as well as his OR scheduler who explained the preop process as well! He literally commented that it was the only MD’ss office he’d ever been to where he could actually make that statement!

This is my second time meeting with Dr Rodriguez and first time for my wife. Because my first surgery (double knee replacement-2008) was so positive we came back. I will be getting a hip replacement this time and my wife will need both knees replaced. He is the humblest, sincere and respectful doctor that we have seen.

Dr. Rodriguez was polite and courteous. He spent more time with me than I expected. He also performed the most thorough evaluation and exam on my knees than the doctors at Northwell and NYU Langone. Dr. Rodriguez also explained the procedure that he will perform with all the possible side effects in an informative manner. He made me feel very comfortable in my decision regarding a knee replacement.

I've had a harder time recovering from the anesthesia than the surgery itself. Minimal edema, minimal pain levels, overall excellent outcome.

Dr Rodriguez made me feel at ease from the first time I met him. I had no hesitation or worries on the day of my surgery. I can honestly say that the whole process has been a blessing.
