I canceled with another doctor that I didn't get along with and explained to dr. Heims that I wanted her instead...she is amazing I want the best and Dr. Heims is the best...

I have anxiety and white coat issues. She is the only doctor i feel I can trust. I dont know what I would do without her. She is an asset to mercy showing caring and trusting behavior.

Dr. Heims is very professional and observant of the patient's interests. Both she and her support staff treat the patient not simply as a problem, but as a person. Dr. Heims is tolerant of religious views that she personally may not be endeared to. Dr. Heims experience allows her to display insight into complicated medical issues. Yet she is willing to collaborate with other medical specialists for the general well-being of the patient. I have to travel somewhat out of the way to get to the appointments, but it is well worth the effort.

Dr. Jo has become very familiar with the dynamics of each family member in her care, and she responds appropriately every time. She is very busy in her practice, but always follows through 100% to pay attention to our needs.

Dr. Heims has been doctor since I moved to Des Moines when I was in my early 30's (now in my 70's). She has always been a kind and compassionate doctor and a very special person. I always appreciate her honesty and the way she cares about me. I wish there were more doctors who have her qualities.
