Very pleased with entire experience at the Cardiology department. Dr. McElderry was not in a rush and answered and explained my questions about ablation n anesthesia.

From pre procedure the nurses and staff were absolutely wonderful, when they took me to procedure room the staff was very courteous and concerned about my being comfortable, I highly recommend UAB for anyone medical, they are the best.

Everything was fine. There was a long wait and I didn't see the doctor for a few hour safter my appt. time. But everything else was fine.

The professional staff is superb. A truly caring, professionally highly skilled and super effective team. Once admitted to a bed every single interaction was positive and I felt I was in the very best and reassuring hands. Hence my choice of this physician ( dr Tom McElderry) and his superb team. Singling out the anesthetist (dr Sarah McCormick) and nurse anesthetist (Faith) who were dedicated to my safe outcome. I was impressed by the caring, competence and humility of the cardiac resident dr Ruchit Shah. The nursing team and the discharging nurse (Jacob) deserve special mention. Deepest gratitude to this world class team.

Wait time was way to long. Arrived at 2:00. Appointment time 2:15. Maybe saw doctor 15 minutes but I left at 4.

The women who checked us in were terrific. They smiled and were very courteous. With the exception of the girl who prepped me, everyone was jovial and kind.

The staff was excellent. The progress of the visit was efficient and amazing. The only slightly confusing portion of the visit was locating the parking deck and then locating the clinic once inside.

Our only complaint was with checking in. The young man that assisted us with checking in was very rude and not at all welcoming. After our appointment we returned to the check in desk to ask if we could have the drs business card and were told he didn’t have any and made absolutely no effort to obtain one for us. He acted as if we had completely inconvenienced him by asking. You should have friendlier people in your customer facing positions. Everyone else were extremely nice and polite.

There are several reasons for my "10" rating. First, of course, is the fame of the cardiac unit of the hospital and Dr McEdlerry's long experience with ablation. So I knew I was getting the best possible care. Beyond that, and in some ways just as important, I can't say enough good things about the staff. Every single person I met -- and I met a lot of people! -- was courteous, friendly, cheerful, and in many cases hilarious. I had a wonderful experience.
