I felt taken care of (and offered a new solution) for the first time in two decades. I felt 100% confident in Dr. Kim and his ability to do (and say) the right things.

Outstanding. Dr. Kim exudes brilliance. I had 2 other consultations regarding spine surgery for my severe scoliosis and hyperkyphosis. Due to my osteoporosis, the other providers told me surgery vwas not recommended because I fall into the high-risk category, with a 10-15% chance of having serious post-surgical complications which could include paralysis. I was expecting Dr. Kim to tell me the same amd I was preparing myself for radical acceptance that spine surgery was not an option, and that I'd have to with chronic back pain, poor posture and deformity. To my surprise,Dr. Kim said I am a candidate for surgery. I was so impressed with the comprehensive care at HSS. For example, having your own endocrinologist bone specialist available to help me optimize my bone density to ensure a better surgical outcome. Spine fusion surgery is serious and not for sissies. After my appointment with Dr. Kim, my husband and I decided we want to use Dr. Kim and HSS for my surgery. Also, I was so impressed with how many brilliant doctors there are, and the cutting-edge technology available at HSS.

Dr. Han Jo Kim is an incredible surgeon. He has given me posture that I’ve never had, a neck I can hold high, pain down the leg is gone! I know he will help me find the best neurologist at HSS to help with my foot neuropathy that was present pre-surgery. His staff is on it and there’s no “falling through the cracks”. Post surgery protocol is really impressive (pain, bathroom issues), all totally manageable, which is mind blowing given the big surgery that it was. I’ll be on the road to healing for a while and know that there will be residual aches, and that’s realistic and ok! In closing, Dr. Kim or “Hancho” as I call him at home 😂 is warm, caring, kind, and immensely talented. Family and friends know who to call now!Thank you, thank you, thank you!
