He made it clear he was very knowledgeable and passionate in his work, and was able to talk about it in a way that I (who knows very little in this field) was able to understand. He was able to balance seriousness with levity. When mentioning a recent familial diagnosis (or lackthereof at a different location/different state), was able to tell me more about possibilities and how some of those things could be genetic, and some of the things that I might want to watch for; and did this in a clear, calm, and confident way, so that I feel calm and confident; not at all panicked/worried about my future eye health, but instead ready to keep "an eye" (badum tiss) on certain factors.
All in all, a perfect doctor.
