OMG! What a difference! The healthcare options here in Tawas, Michigan compared to what I was used to in [STATE] are complete opposites. I honestly put off going to the hospital because I was dreading being stuck there all day, which is what I had come to expect in [STATE]. Instead, I was in and out in no time! From the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly nice, professional, and helpful. The entire experience was so much better than I expected. I already had plenty of reasons to be happy about our move to Michigan, but after today, I can honestly say the hospital and doctors alone made the move worthwhile!
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Honestly, I can’t think of anything that could have improved my experience. I was hesitant to go to the ER because I expected to spend most of the day waiting, based on my previous experiences in [STATE]. I was completely surprised by how quickly I was seen and how smoothly everything went. Every person I encountered was kind, professional, and made me feel well cared for. I was in and out much faster than I ever expected. This was easily one of the best emergency room experiences I’ve ever had. Please keep doing exactly what you’re doing—and thank you to everyone who took care of me! ❤️

I really cannot complete the survey as I came in nearly unconscious and hallucinating. I am not sure but I think I mostly slept the drug off.

Unfortunately, ive had to go to the ER twice this week after having a medical procedure done. Both times all of the staff were compassionate, caring, and did everything they could to make sure I was OK. I cant thank all of them enough.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Nothing. Nobody wants to go to the ER, having said that, having excellent staff made a huge difference.

The doctor that cared for me was very personable and easy to understand, very professional and knowledgeable. The nurse that cared for me was the same, super friendly and humorous, and very good at knowing what kind of questions to ask. The x-ray tech was also so polite and so kind. I hope you can find their names attached to my visit Paperwork

More staff to speed up the process of getting care, I waited for 3 1/2 hours.

The entire staff showed constant concern for my comfort and well being. Each of them were patient and thorough. No-one minded repeating questions or instructions. I had a CT, as well, and the two people who helped me there made me feel safe and that I was the priority. The entire experience was comforting and my the main goal for my visit was to be reassured that I had not suffered a serious injury in the fall that happened a few hours prior to my visit. I received more than just reassurance. The staff truly cares and it shows in their actions.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
There was one thing that threw me off and I had to understand why before it made sense. I was discharged very shortly after shift change. I don't think that doctor looked past my diagnosis of a hip contusion due to my fall to see that I have had several spinal fusions and recently had xrays to diagnose pain I'm having outside of the fall. I felt I had to defend myself when she asked why I needed a wheelchair to leave. She then asked how I got into the ER and stopped questioning me when I said why I used a wheelchair then as well. That was a little stressful for someone with past medical trauma. This may have been a simple question for someone else, perhaps, but I'm still thinking about it.

Joe my nurse was awesome. But sending medical records to my doctors never happened, getting ahold of someone to get them sucks.

Send records to doctors, and answer the phone or at least have vpicemail so that they will call you back so that the doctors can get them

I gave very low ratings due to the fact that after seeing the doctor for an ear injury she never told me to keep the ear dry.. very important. Her time line for me to be better was 2-3 days. It's going on weeks now. I finally saw an ear specialist. The doctor told me she would give me a dose of steroids to help my ear heal. The nurse came in and told me I could go.. I had to ask her about the steroids and she looked it up and said good thing I told her! I'm not the medical professional. Over all it was a wasted visit. Sorry to say. We have property up in Tawas and I'm not sure if we could trust that hospital should we need care! People are hurt and in pain, care wasn't professional at all. The hospital was better before the name changed. Better care. Needs improvement.

Have more Doctors went in for stitches was there for 4 hrs because another emergency came in so we had to wait. For holiday weekend in Tawas should have more Doctors.

What could have been done to improve your experience?
The only thing I wish was different was the availability of an MRI. I was in there following a motorcycle accident. X-ray showed no broken bones but when I went to walk, I wasn’t able to walk more than 3-4 steps without my knee giving out. Dr. Parsons was great with explaining how if I wanted an MRI, I would have to go to Saginaw but it would definitely be nice if that service was available more often at Tawas.

I was in the Tawas area on vacation when I experienced a first time seizure that brought me to the emergency room. Prior to the seizure I was a little concerned about the hospital facilities in the area because I knew they were small, but I was pleasantly surprised by the care that I received there.
