The people were friendly. My nurse, Craig, was friendly...the doctor, Sam Abdul, was quiet and not very comforting. He seemed uninterested, but not unfriendly.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
No follow up phone calls questioning your decision to go the the ER in the first place. I suffer from severe anxiety problems, and if I feel that I need to go to the ER I'm going to the ER. I don't feel that I need a phone call the next day telling me I should probably call my primary care physician first, go to a clinic next, and make the ER the last possible thing.

Listen to patients better. I was having a life threatening allergic reaction and the paramedic radioed in I had a sinus infection. So, my nurse Sarah C was stuck on me having a sinus infection and wasnt listening when I kept saying I cannot breathe, I cannot talk. Shipped me to Midland and was in pretty bad shape when I got here. Doctors and nurses need to listen to their patients.

Doctor came in for 2 min and she left after telling me what test I was getting never heard or seen her again after that.. very upsetting felt she didn't care and was in a rush to push me aside. Very displeased about the whole situation..I will be driving farther in hours to get better care..

The nurses we're great. The doctor came in for maybe 2 minutes and I never saw him again. I have never experienced being discharged from a hospital/ emergency room without the doctor coming to check in first

I was treated very very well. My shoulder had came out of joint. The doctor and staff were very well versed in ttreating my problem. They treated me with speed and knowledge. I could not be more pleased. !!!

Think it’s ridiculous that I have to pay a doctor $1000 for him to spend less than 5 minutes with my child. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ll drive to Bay City to be seen next time to no incur so many bills.

I was very happy with Dr. Nowels. My last E.R. visit, I was not happy with the doctor I had, nor did she help me. I had to go to my primary doctor as soon as the weekend was over, because she did not help me at all, and I became much sicker.

My doctor on my most recent visit overlooked me on several things. I was very disappointed that he appeared he didn't care and had very poor bedside manner. The nurse was not the friendliest either. I'm very disappointed

Put the care back in healthcare. I work in [OCCUPATION] and this was hideous.

Was there anything that you feel was outstanding?
The quality of care that I received from the entire team from check-in to transport to another hospital due to my acuity of care was outstanding. My nurses and provider in the ED were caring, compassionate and took care of me with exceptional kindness. I felt well cared in a very vulnerable state. Thank you to the entire staff for taking care of me and making sure that I was taken care of.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Nothing. The treatment and care I received should be implemented to other hospitals showing how care, compassion and efficient teamwork can help improve quality of care for a patient without delaying care for patients.

Karen [ ] and 2 other nurses did a great job, Professional and understanding . The Dr was understanding and polite. Everyone did ther job w/o any issues. I was concerned with my health on my way in. I felt better about life on the way out.

The combination of staff on shift absolutely complimented one another. Everybody was so kind and the whole process went swift in order to get me comfortable so they could figure out what was going on. ❤️
What could have been done to improve your experience?
The only thing that was a little bit difficult for me was the amount of pain that I was in when I first walked in and the lady was gathering all my information and I wasn't sure if I was going to puke or pass out or poop on myself. I know that she needed a signature from me. I was I'm just trying not to die at that moment.

From the lady at the intake desk, the nurses, to the doctor... all were friendly, professional, and efficient. My visit was not life threatening (a cat bite) but information was gathered, I was treated, and on my way efficiently.

Come in for a leaking catheter issue and registration is asking 100’s of questions while I’m holding my privates while it’s leaking all over then had to sign with my hand that was wet from urine. Wasn’t a fan

I was in because I had a collapsed lung a couple weeks prior and was vomiting. They were made well aware I had a hysterectomy. I do not have a cervix or uterus. They still did a pregnancy test to charge my insurance. I will most likely be going to another facility when ill for now on, Shame on them ! [NAME]
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Stop doing unnecessary test just to charge the insurance company. I would have never agreed to a pregnancy test as it’s not medically necessary!

The nurses were great. They did a great job of explaining the situation to help my grandson out. The Dr was quiet and reserved. The receptionist was great. She set up insurance for [NAME] right away! Over all things went well!

The doctor could have been a little more friended! Out side of that My Michigan was great!, in and out in a short amount of time!

The doctor explained what I could do in the future to avoid any further problems, such as drink enough water and comply with the treatment ordered. I just felt secure because they all worked well together and seemed to respect each other and trust each other.

I loved that they didn't judge me for bringing her in for such a minor injury. The only treatment may have been a popsicle and stickers but it made me feel at peace knowing she wasn't seriously injured.

The RN went above and beyond to bandage my wound. I had stated the adhesive on regular Bandaids was getting quite painful on the surrounding skin. Excellent! Dr Abdul provided superior care in evaluating me, asking many questions and proving information I had not received previously. I was impressed start to finish!!

Was there anything that you feel was outstanding?
No one individual can be singled out, not because they do not deserve to be recognized. The team all worked so well together to give exceptional care that everyone deserves to recognized including the imaging tech., and ultrasound sound tech., who all seemed to understand my nature of the pain I was experiencing.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
The only thing that could have been different is for an ultrasound technician to be available at 3am. Realistically I do understand why it is not possible for a technician to be on 24 hour shift. I waited from 3am to 845-9am for my ultrasound and then discharged 30min later. The results were very quick.

I arrived at the emergency room approximately at 2:00 in the afternoon with an amputation to my index finger and I didn't leave the emergency room until 5:00 to head down to Ann Arbor to see if there's a possibility of save my finger I feel like my finger was not left on ice which was a problem that created me to have my index finger amputated by the time I got to Ann Arbor. There didn't seem to be an urgency with getting my finger on ice or getting me shipped out of the ER ASAP 3 hours wasted when I could have been taken to Ann Arbor and had my finger possibly saved when I left the nurse was unsure of how to apply ice to my finger I had to show her I just feel they weren't well equipped for my situation and did not handle it well

They should have realized immediately it was something that they were not able to handle being that they are a trauma for it should have had me shipped out immediately and not sit around for 3 hours with my finger hanging therefore there was no circulation of blood and the finger was not put on 🧊

Doctor Ellie Virgin and nurse Bonnie [ ] were excellent, very caring and compassionate. Their professionalism is outstanding.

The only complaint I have is that the area designated for incoming patients is to small and not very private. The staff is excellent.

My entire time in the er was excellent. I was treated with respect and everything was explained. They found my issue right away and treated it. Explained why I had to be transferred to Midland for additional testing.
