On a Friday morning, I felt I needed medical attention. I walked into the office and was greeted immediately. The desk attendant got someone to check my vitals; I was given an appointment with Nurse Practitioner within an hour. After a through conversation, she prescribed a new Rx for high blood pressure, which I had never experienced before, and I was on my way.

The nurse practitioner that saw me told me that "everyone is a diabetic" it's just how well we manage our blood sugar levels. I did not like hearing this. I always thought that depending on your blood tests results if your A1c was that particular number you were or were not a diabetic. I'm supposed to see Dr [ ] in [Month] I'll ask him if this is true...

The staff is wonderful, the NP I saw was so thorough and kind and respectful. She answered all my questions and put me at ease. The office was VERY clean, and love going here, in and out quick.

Short wait. Lab work taken first. Saw Doctor's student and then doctor. Both were very nice and very knowledgable. After Doctor's exam, the lab results were ready allowing a diagnosis. Prescription was sent to pharmacy and picked up on the way home.
Process was very efficient resulting in a visit that was "short and sweet". Everyone was courteous and knew their job.

Dr Ellen is wonderful. She has the perfect demeanor, and actually listens, which is a standard for all of the Drs & NPs I have had the pleasure to deal with at UAB. Unfortunately not for Drs pretty much anywhere else.

There was no wait time! The medical assistant was extremely friendly. Ellen NP took the time and listened very attentively to all my concerns. We were able to come up with a plan together. She is awesome, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her patients. My husband and I highly recommend Ellen.
