My mom and I are both patients of Dr. Merkel. He is very professional and helpful. My mom, who is now over 70, had surgery performed by Dr. Merkel a few years ago. She described it as an excellent experience, with minimal pain and a quick recovery.

Made me feel judged and abruptly left after assuming my position on vaccinations. Abruptly ended the visit and told me “he only uses science based facts’ and that I would not be a good fit in the practice as a patient. I was left feeling like some sortl of uneducated patient who was then dismissed . The most absurd part of all of this, is that I am pro vaccination. He was so busy talking over me and listening to himself that he could not hear me as a patient. I’ve never felt this way after leaving a physicians office. I have great doctors with great bedside manners. I am still offended a week later.

Appointment for a gyno visit. Dr Merkel was thorough, compassionate and explained everything in detail. Made me feel comfortable and reassured. He is a credit to the profession. Highly recommend.

If you’re looking for a OB/GYN PLEASE go see Dr. Merkel! He is an AMAZING doctor he really cares for his patients with their health and wellbeing. He does not “sugar coat” anything, he is very down-to-earth and he is very easy to talk to.

Dr merkel is the reason why i come to iha. I have seen two other gynos before him and felt so uncomfortable with them. Never with Dr merkel. He has seen some of my family members and we have nothing but the best to say about him. He is always a pleasure and always makes me feel comfortable. Thank you for being the best.
