I appreciated that the provider was thorough and explained each part of the exam as she was doing it. However, I did leave feeling a little disappointed in some of the interactions during the visit.When I requested a Pap smear, I felt somewhat discouraged from doing so because of the current screening guidelines, even though having one done more regularly gives me peace of mind due to my history of an abnormal result. I completely understand the guidelines, but I think I was hoping for a more supportive response to my personal preference, especially since it is covered by my insurance.I also declined a mammogram at this time, but was told an order would still be placed anyway. While I understand wanting patients to stay on top of preventative care, it felt unnecessary after I had already expressed that I did not plan to proceed with it.In general, the provider came across as very knowledgeable and professional, but a bit less warm or personable than I’ve experienced with other providers in the past. Lastly, when discussing a cream that was being prescribed, the explanation felt very medical and fast-paced, and I left somewhat unclear on what exactly it was for and how to use it. A simpler explanation in more patient-friendly language would have been really helpful.I share this respectfully and only as constructive feedback, because I do appreciate the care and professionalism overall.
