I have been a patient of Dr. French for several years and have always appreciated his attention to detail and his empathy. My most recent physical exceeded expectations.Three great things that happened during my visit:- The MA and Dr. French both mentioned my slightly elevated BP. They both explained there would be a recheck at the end of my visit and explained the home tracking process if my BP was abnormal again. At the end of the visit, the MA remembered to come back and do the confirmatory reading and I wasn't left waiting.- During the course of a review of my vitals, Dr. French said something like, "Your weight: up, down, or about the same?" No numbers discussed or judgments immediately expressed. This was an excellent way to open the floor to me and let me as the patient decide how or if I wanted to talk about that particular sensitive subject.- One of the last things Dr. French asked me was if I had any goals for my health or wellness. I had never been asked by any other doctor if I had any goals. Doctors have always decided what I need to improve on and assign homework accordingly. I brought up a chronic condition I had recently decided to work on improving. Dr. French asked me what I was trying and we had a good chat. He gets extra credit for being aware of the hit-or-miss nature of insurance coverage in this situation and offered a suggestion that might have more success with my insurance.I may have moved away from Chelsea, but I would drive twice as far to see Dr. French.As a side note, I really miss Dr. French's old visit note from the pre-Epic days, which I looked forward to re-reading each year. There were some great gems of wisdom such as "enjoy yourself but be responsible" and "demand respect from spouse + work colleagues". The new annual note is so bland in comparison!

I had a very thorough check up and was very satisfied with the plan I am supposed to follow, and I hope it will make me physically better.

Dr. French did not make eye contact during my visit, and the whole appointment felt rushed. He didn’t seem caring or interested in what I had to say. I left feeling dismissed and uncomfortable - definitely not the kind of experience you want from a doctor.

Probably the worst provider. He did not communicate well.

Like I said doctor David French was one of the best and greatest finds for a primary care doctor that I've ever found i thank him for helping me look towards a healthier future.
