The last surgeon I saw for information on knee replacement nearly two years ago (not affiliated with the Trinity System) was not particularly encouraging about surgical intervention,, in spite of my being in considerable pain on a daily basis. Unfortunately, that experience led me to further postpone a surgery I should have had years ago. In contrast, however, in spite of Dr. Carpenter’s realistic assessment regarding the hard work required after TKR, and that I can’t expect the knees of a 20 year old after sustaining as much damage to my knees as I have, I felt listened to, respected and encouraged - and I have finally scheduled surgery after years of postponement.

Dr. Carpenter is awesome, recommended by several knee patients. He listens to you, is willing to work with you, checks in with you often the first 2 days and is available by phone for concerns. Replacing a knee is no small job, yet with my leg still swollen my one and only suture line is only 5 inches long and looks great.
