While the team was incredibly busy and my appointment ran late they gave me snacks while I was waiting in the waiting room and kept me informed of the delay from the time I came back until the time I left. They were all working very hard to get everyone taken care of.

The doctor was very polite, listened to what I was saying, and answered. He took my opinion about the medicine I was using for treatment, which he prescribed. I was happy with the treatment.

I wasn't called back to a room until an hour after my scheduled appointment. When I inquired about verification of sign in at the front desk, I was told that the Provider was possibly behind in seeing the patients.

All the staff are very kind and helpful. Dr. Elmets makes sure that my health is the top priority, and has found melanoma in the early stages on a few occasions now so it can be removed and tested for any spreading. His mole mapping has been a life saver to me!

Ease of parking. Easy checkin. NO WAITING. Was called back before my appt time!! Was seen immediately. Little wait for the Doctor who put an immediate treatment plan into action & scheduled testing himself. Soo impressive!!

I guess the only thing that I didn’t like was, I waited in the exam room, in a gown for over 1 hour before anyone came in the room. It got extremely quiet, I guess during their lunch break. Finally, I heard someone say, did you ever see the patient in room #3? Afterwards, a young doctor entered my room and was very apologetic for making me wait so long. At that time, I was deciding whether or not to leave.

Appointment was on time. All staff (from reception/scheduling/clerical to nurses and MD) were courteous, attentive, efficient, and uniformly demonstrated the consistently high level of professionalism that we are privileged to access in the dermatology department at UAB. I have 50 years experience with dermatologists in Birmingham and New York. Dr. Elmets and his team deserve our thanks and recognition for providing truly exceptional care.
