Doctor was fully immersed on my condition and had read my MRI, x-rays and was fully briefed on my entire medical history before I even had to share - but not unexpected from HSS surgeons. They take their job seriously but listen and address patient’s concerns.

He is extremely professional and experienced. He explained to me in several occasions the process and benefits of the surgery.

I believe I am an unusual patient due to my desire to understand and orient to what will be involved in the surgical intervention. Dr Brusalis heard that and provided what I needed when time and space were conducive to doing so. I am grateful and appreciative. His team in the OR was exceptional and I would like to be able to officially mention 3 people: the anesthesiologist, who was warm, attentive, empathic and reassuring; the fellow, who was exceptional in holding eye contact when we met and that meant a lot while being reassuring; and lastly but not least, Maria ? I believe is her name?, with whom I exchanged in Spanish, understood everything she told me, and made such a difference, had such a positive impact…I wish I could nominate her as exceptional.

I could not have been more impressed with how Dr. Brusalis treated me. He was genuinely concerned about my problem, performed a very comprehensive exam, thoroughly explained my treatment options and answered all my questions.

Outstanding communication and attention. Every question was answered, every concern addressed, every procedure explained. I came to HSS just to get a second opinion after already having my condition diagnosed and surgery scheduled elsewhere. Dr. Brusalis changed my mind with his care and competency, and I'm so glad he did.

The staff at the sign in was especially cheerful, polite and was seemingly helpful. This Doctor was one of the best I’ve ever encountered. Polite, introduced himself, cheerful, shared his findings in such a way that what I was there for was explained on a level that I understood. Will definitely make him my go to doctor for the areas he specializes in.

Dr. Brusalis truly showed professionalism, skilled knowledge, and compassion. Amazingly, considering my severely compromised autoimmune issues I am making a remarkable recovery with extremely minimal if any pain! I appreciated seeing my before and after x-rays, and having all my questions answered by his PA. Steven as well as himself. I appreciated the paperwork that was signed so my daughter was able to take a leave of absence from work and come and care for me alongside my husband. I feel very blessed to have had my surgery done at a number one ranked orthopedic surgical hospital with an exceptionally outstanding globally recognized surgeon as Dr. Brusalis.

Dr. Brusalis has been great. He made me feel good about my shoulder pain, that I have been in for a month. For he knew what was wrong with me after looking at my MIR and x-rays I told my Hair Dresser that I would recommend him to anybody because the man knows what he’s doing.

Dr. Brusalis is an extremely intelligent doctor. He provided excellent care before my surgery and after. It’s been over a year since my surgery and I feel terrific. Dr. Brusalis is also courteous and explains everything carefully. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Provided a context where trust can be established quickly by stating “this is my world”; if I can’t have trust in his knowledge, skills, expertise and comprtence, acquired over an extensive period of study, training, and, experience, I cannot trust anyone.

Dr. Brusalis did a great job fixing my broken collar bone, even though I still have some pain which is probably due to a previous accident in 1990.
