Dr Colasanti explained everything clearly and after explaining the anatomy of the shoulder he went through the MRI showing me where the issues were. When discussing surgery he shared risks and complications clearly and also explained what the surgery entailed and what the recovery process would be. I never had a doctor who made me feel so comfortable and confident in my decision to go ahead with surgery. He also assured me that I could call him anytime if I had any questions.

Dr. Colasanti provided an excellent experience during my first visit for shoulder pain. He was attentive, took the time to listen carefully to my concerns, and ensured I felt comfortable throughout the appointment. An X-ray was performed, and he explained the findings clearly and thoroughly. He provided the exercise plan since I opted to self rehab at home. I left the visit feeling informed, confident in the treatment plan, and well cared for. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Colasanti is an exceptional physician. He explained in detail my MRI and my Xray. He presented the primary goal to alleviate my shoulder pain and acted quickly to relieve my discomfort by injecting my bicep and shoulder. Personable, professional and supportive, I would recommend him to everyone. .

Great job Dr for the way you thoroughly explained my joint and it's current health. I'm crossing my fingers for the soft tissue damage not being too extensive which we'll obviously know after the MRI.

Dr. Colasanti has a very kind and gentle mannerism that aligns with the way I deem important with doctor/ patient relationships. He also listens very attentively, and I noticed last visit, that he also takes his time to answer questions, which reflects deeper critical thinking, which I realized a few days later after I had time to process the visit with him. Which in turn, made me realize a few things that I may have overlooked about a few keys things that he was trying to say, in a quiet, passive way, which I know understand about my inflammation flare-ups, which I now know are related to some pain, but mostly nervous system overdrive. Also, this is a very important aspect that I realized a few days ago, which I would like to ask him at my next visit. After he gave me my cortisone shot, in the exact place that I have had recurrent pain for about 18 months, and getting multiple injections at that spot, not by Dr. Colasanti previously, but by another doctor, and something registered with me that my long time physician that “cured” my back that became immobile for 5 months back in the year 2000, is that when I asked him “is cortisone treatment dangerous”? As I was told by another physician, and he replied” Not if you know what you are doing, what exact nerve to hit”. So after Dr. Colasanti gave me my last cortisone shot, I felt it in my glenohumoral head, and my deltoid muscle. Right then, I knew he hit the exact nerve which I believe had an impingement, and was not targeted at the exact spot. So the interesting thing is that now with beginning to do light exercises I can now feel my tricep and the supporting muscles around it, which I had not felt, after I retore my supraspinatus again after my second surgery, although it is small. So, I am very appreciative that he was able to target that “exact” nerve that I know believe was causing the incredible pain when returning to PT on multiple occasions. At my next visit, I would like to know if in fact this is the reason I can feel “good” muscle soreness, and actually feel those muscles again. The only question I have for Dr. Colasanti now is; Will I be able to strengthen the muscles that have atrophied with exercise, and will I be able I do certain sports that I once enjoyed such as tennis, basketball, swimming, and possibly kickboxing again, by avoiding surgery, or will that not be possible? Thank you Dr. Colasanti, as I greatly appreciate your help,and for being kind, compassionate, and caring, which I wish all doctors were all like that. I will also say, I felt the same way about Dr. Zachary [last name], and I expect I will be treated the same way with my upcoming appointment with Dr. [last name]. Thank you all at HSS, as your reputation truly precedes you in the best way!
