I've been Dr. Smith for 8-9 years and I visit often. In that time only ONCE was I able to detect that she was maybe having a bad day. She enters an OV ready to give full attention to the patient and to whatever I say. She's a great care manager, answering my insurance questions or helping me choose specialists and interpret their tests, etc. Here's the freaky part: because I'm a difficult patient, I know that she gives this care to everyone. If not for Dr. Smith, I might not be seeing any doctor at all.

Dr. Smith is always kind and respectful, and I feel does her best to help, but in this case, she "missed the mark", by looking at my age and the fact that she'd seen me for the problem previosly( a day or 2 earlier) , and obviosly just assumed I have a low tolerance for pain, - when in fact it was exactly the terrible pain that made me return for help.

She understands that my health is more than just numbers falling inside acceptable ranges. She understands that 'will' aside, I still can fail and she accepts that.
