Yesterday was my first appointment with Dr. Calvin Spellmon, Jr. My experience with Dr. Spellmon and his staff was very positive and enjoyable. I was promptly invited into the examination room a few minutes after my arrival. After the completion of taking my vitals and obtaining X-rays, the waiting time to consult with Dr. Spellmon was reasonable.
Dr. Spellmon and his staff exemplified the epitome of excellent healthcare. They demonstrated kindness, friendliness, compassion, patience, care, and courtesy throughout the entire visit.
I had a sense of ease and trust when Dr. Spellmon entered the examination room. He greeted me with a professional handshake, seated himself directly across from me, maintained consistent eye contact, and invited me to share my concerns. I tend to provide excessive details, but Dr. Spellmon was very patient and listened attentively to my concerns. He also dedicated ample time to answering my questions and offering information/advice to me regarding my issues.
It has been determined that further testing is needed. There were no immediate appointments available from St. Vincent's. However, they were able to connect me to another facility, and I have an appointment scheduled tomorrow. Following this, I will have a follow-up visit with Dr. Spellmon.
I was extremely satisfied with Dr. Spellmon and the staff of UAB Sports and Exercise Medicine Clinic at St Vincent's 119.
I would definitely recommend them!!

From the time I walked in late after getting lost, everyone from the front desk clerk, the Nurse, X-ray tech, Nurse Practitioner, Physician & the DME equipment Nurse were all very nice, professional and easy to talk to. Most times everyone is in a rush to get to the next patient. I felt like I was amongst family. I’ll definitely return to this location for all my visits!!!!

Dr. Spellmon was so attentive, understanding, and funny! He made my son feel comfortable and reassured me the healing process was going according to plan. He laid out the next steps we will take for our next visit. I appreciate everyone in the office who made this visit very easy and comfortable

The Staff, Nurses, and Doctor was very professional and helpful. I was well informed of what was going on with my issue and I was very satisfied with the decisions and actions that were taken in order to give me better quality of life. Thank you to everyone involved.

Everyone was welcoming and Dr.Spellmon was personal and relational with me and gave me other options other than surgery. He gave me hope and he is a great doctor I highly recommend him!! 10/10!!
