Dr Azar, oncologist for Trinity Health care, St. Joseph Hospital could not have been more pleasant and easy to talk to about my cancer. He was always open to my questions and concerns. I trust him and appreciate his professional opinion and ability to explain medical things I may fear and/or don’t understand. He also has a great sense of humor.

Dr Azar was very professional during our visit. He answered all of my questions and even drew some pictures to show me what was happening to my body. He took his time and waited for me to think about his responses and ask for interpretation, in case I did not comprehend the medical information he was giving me. I worked in hospice/homecare for approximately 17 Years for Trinity (Mercy Home Care and Hospice) and two other hospices, during which time I met several physicians certainly respected their professional information, but I did not always appreciate their “bedside manner.” I also worked as a clinical therapist and Substance abuse Counselor in two other jobs. I sincerely appreciate the necessity for treating consumers with dignity and respect. Dr. Azar was wonderful. I won’t hesitate to trust him with my care. He gives me hope for my medical future. Thank you Dr. Azar.

Dr.Azar answered all my questions thoroughly. He took the time to go through My Chart to explain all my test results. I feel Blessed to have found him.

He genuinely seems to be a knowledgeable man with a good heart. However, when going thru cancer treatments and followups, patients need a little more understanding and compassion. He asks how you are doing, but he does not seem to genuinely care how you answer. Cancer is scary and makes patients feel completely out of control with their body. When it comes to follow-up care I want someone to take things slow and help me understand all the changes happening.

There was a little delay in the appointment, but once seen - Dr Azar is great about explaining test results, courses of treatment, next steps, etc. He also listens to any concerns and answers any questions you may have.
