I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. I saw Dr Atwell, with a family member present, for a presurgical exam. He assured us the tumor could be removed via a lumpectomy that would leave zero to no disfigurement and in fact inappropriately said “you’ll be back in your bikini in no time.” He said fluid would initially fill any void. Altho tumor and location never changed, I woke up to half of my breast removed. Atwell acted embarrassed but only said he had removed “a little more” just to be safe. I absolutely do not recommend him. Personally I think he got my file mixed up with someone else but I’m having to live with the disfigurement. The cancer had not spread and the tumor size had not changed.

In my opinion I think he is the best you could have. Look forward to having him for my future upcoming surgery. If I ever needed anything else done when I’m older, I would only want him. He is very knowledgeable, understanding, caring, answers any questions/concerns you have, & explains everything step by step.
