Dr. Andrea was so knowledgeable.. I went for a second opinion and guess what I found a dr who I am picking for my breast surgery..She made me feel confident in trusting her judgement for my care.. I loved the way she discussed everything in detail so you can understand it.. I am so glad I went to fox chase for a second opinion ❤️

Dr. Porpiglia is an outstanding doctor and surgeon. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer at a small, trusted suburban hospital when I was 46 years old. Terrified, I quickly moved ahead to schedule the recommended lumpectomy. Out of a sense of obligation, I decided to seek a second opinion at FCCC fully assuming the prognosis and tx plan would be identical. Thanks goodness I met with Dr. Porpiglia who found another spot of cancer on the MRI that the suburban hospital had missed. If it were not for her, I would have received the wrong course of treatment due to misdiagnosis. She is perceptive, detail oriented and has a great bed side manner. She literally saved my life and I am forever thankful for her competent decision making, excellent communication skills and surgical expertise. I recommend all women who hear the scary words "breast cancer" to meet with Dr. Porpiglia. She represents the best that medicine can offer. Where you start DOES matter.
