I am so grateful to God for Dr. Amescua. Every day my surgery eye improves and gets stronger. I have not stopped praying for the donor who gave me the cornea and Dr. Moreschi who was supportive, positive and so gentle when I was eating after surgery. I pray daily for Dr. Amescua and his Blessed hands. I am grateful to drive to Mass, HEB, and to research facilties downtown. I am cooking, dancing and yesterday Dr Amescua told me that I can was my hair with water! At night I pray for all the doctors, nurses, staff who actively transform Dr. Bascom Palmer's dream into inspired reality. I wonder if there will ever be a Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Texas. There is a great need here.

Dr. Guillermo Amescua performed the same procedure in my left eye last year and the outcome was exceptional. I came back to consult and schedule the procedure in my right eye.

Overall, Dr Amescua did a great job. The staff works well as team and always makes sure the patients are well taken care of. I am a difficult case with three failed corneal transplants. Dr Amescua was so compassionate and empathetic. He truly is frustrated with my rejections and wants me to have a transplant with a longer “life span”. I first met Dr Amescua in Plantation when he successfully saved my first transplant performed by Kendall Donaldson. He was filling in for her that day. He worked so long and said I think we are going to save this transplant And he did! For months afterwards, my eye was good. I felt then his compassion and dedication. A kind and caring physician.
